The Navigator Muri Lagoon is a two-storey holiday home right on the beach with modern interiors and facilities. Accommodating up to 4 adults, the Navigator is ideal for family (children over 12 years) or two couples travelling together. Enjoy a relaxing Cook Islands vacation at this new and spacious villa on Rarotonga.
The Navigator is owned by a descendent of Edward Young, midshipman, a companion of Fletcher Christian on the HMS Bounty.
When the seven canoes left the Cook Islands from Muri Lagoon heading for Aotearoa, a navigator boat was at the forefront guiding the canoes. This modern house, The Navigator, takes its name from that event and is situated on the lagoon near the departure point.
Location
The Navigator is located right on the beach at Muri Lagoon, one of Rarotonga’s favourite holiday spots. It offers spectacular views of the lagoon and motu (islets). On one side are the Sokala Villas and on the other the popular Flame Tree Restaurant.
Facilities
Facilities at The Navigator include a beautiful freshwater pool set between the villa and the shore, and surrounded by tropical palms and flowers. Inside, guests can enjoy the spacious interiors, and modern stainless steel kitchen. There are hardwood floors throughout providing a cool tropical ambience. Bottled water, milk, cereals and fruit juice are provided to welcome you on arrival. A local store within easy reach is open from 6am to 11pm daily and there are also a variety of great restaurants if you wish to dine out, including the Flame Tree Restaurant right next door, open for dinner every day. Only 200 metres from the Navigator there is also a takeaway and a laundromat.
Activities
Muri Lagoon has a full range of watersports activities including sailing, glass bottom boat cruise, windsurfing and more. Kayaks and snorkelling are provided at the Navigator for use in the beautiful warm clear waters of the lagoon right in front.
Accommodation
The Navigator offers spacious open-plan interior with living area and stunning modern kitchen allowing for self-catering. There are two spacious bedrooms on the upper floor. The unique layout allows guests to access the balcony overlooking the beach.
You may choose between full service or self-service option. (Refer rates below).
The self-service option is available on the condition that you service/clean the accommodation. There will be no maid service during your stay, but guests are NOT required to do any major cleaning, and are NOT required to launder towels or linen. We will provide you with fresh towels & linen for the duration of your stay. The villa must be kept moderately tidy, and you must sweep out any sand that accumulates from the beach. The villa is to be left in the same condition as you found it, otherwise you will be charged cleaning services of NZ$100.
