Stand on the quaint wooden bridge that leads you into Aroha Villa, or sit on one of the natural volcanic rocks and take in the tropical garden -- palms, ferns, banana trees and flowers adorning this restful place. One of the elegant, cool villa suites opens out to the gentle sounds of water and this peaceful main courtyard, which has special highlights – the intricately carved, vividly coloured wooden columns, alcoves featuring original pottery and elaborate, carved shuttered windows. The courtyard suite also has smaller private patio and garden which has its own personal access – ideal for those moments when solitude is sought.
Enter into the vast lounge and entertainment area and one is instantly struck by the eclectic collection of original art and craftwork. Many cultures are represented in this magnificent home, with the most predominant of course being the large collection of vibrant Pacific art. The striking details throughout the lounge and the rest of the villa nourish the human need for loveliness. The architectural design of this two-storey villa itself is evidence of a tasteful blend of cultures offering wide spaces and yet small, beautiful intimate places.
Huge hand carved striking panels cleverly conceal a state of the art entertainment centre and wide collection of books, DVD movies and music surrounded by plush comfortable furniture create an atmosphere to relax or entertain. To one side of the lounge under stairs leading to the top floor is a fully-equipped bar, cleverly hidden from view. The stairs lead to a large, airy suite with private bathroom and rooftop decking with panoramic ocean views. The romance of a leisurely, delicious meal taken on the roof deck at sunset which then grows in to a clear night star-studded night cannot be equalled.
The master suite is an experience in creative ingenuity and cool comfort. The visible surf on the reef below can be heard from the suite – a distinctive Pacific island sound that has a calming effect throughout the hours of the day. The rhythm of those waves will lull you to sleep at night. Adjoining the master suite and courtyard suite are bath and dressing rooms.

Polynesian/Mediterranean style Aroha Villa has many luxurious amenities. The 5000 sq ft villa features super king beds (conversion to 2 singles possible in 2 of the 3 suites). Activities
Step out on to the wide patio, where again you are embraced by sea views and to the immediate right is a shady pool! Just metres away is the 18-hole Rarotonga Golf Course – make a point of having a round and meeting the local members, it will be an unforgettable experience. The beach is a stone throw away, which is perfect for swimming snorkeling or just relaxing getting a tan. During Whale season (Sep-Feb) Aroha Villa is the perfect place for whale watching, as during migration the whales arrive and leave outside Aroha Villa. Watch tropical sunsets off the balconies. Extras available including Jet skis, Harley Davidson motorcycles, push bikes, private fishing charters, glass bottom boat tour, art tour, reef tour, historical cultural experience, day trip to Aitutaki, in house cocktail evening, kayaking, canoeing, scenic flights and cross-island guided trek. So much to do and see! and we can organise it all!!
Location
Aroha Villa is located at Blackrock on the island of Rarotonga adjacent to the island’s golf course and across from the beach. It is 5 min drive to the main town of Avarua. A vehicle is available (with chauffeur if/when required).
Groups & Conferences
Aroha Villa has three suites and three bathrooms and 5 toilets. It can sleep six persons making it ideal for small groups. Specialists in weddings and honeymoons, getaways and events. We hope to see you here! Kia manuia!
Dining & Entertainment
The large ultra modern open design kitchen equipped with classy professional equipment is an absolute joy to the enthusiastic cook – whatever level of skill. It would even inspire the absolute novice! The open layout provides for efficiency and ease of movement, service and access in the kitchen. One is presented with the choice of cooking while entertaining informally or semi-formal settings in the adjacent dining room that opens on to the wide patios. There is of course the ultimate choice of alfresco dining on the main pavilion graced by a magnificent sunset and later, warm clear starry nights. The pavilion which faces the ocean, is one of the most outstanding features of Aroha Villa. With four metre high columns and a wide patio, the pavilion is a classic, majestic setting. Steps lead down from the patio to a superb deck with a sheltered entertainment area tucked in on the western side.
